Introduction to BPM, sometimes called BPM 101, provides a basic introduction to all aspects of BPM today: BPM as a management discipline, as a methodology for improving work, as a set of tools and technologies. Students get a brief taste of– BPMN Method and Style, Starting and Organizing a BPM

Project, and Analyzing and Optimizing BPM Processes. We also discuss enterprise BPM, including process frameworks like SCOR and ITIL, the process maturity model, and functions of a BPM center of excellence. It’s a great way to introduce your whole team to the concepts, features, and benefits of business process management.

BPM 101 is the cornerstone course of the BPM curriculum. It provides an overview of BPM as both a management discipline and as a set of enabling technologies. It establishes the foundation for the BPM courses that follow. Participants will learn the key concepts, terms, methodologies, techniques, and
technologies in BPM. It equips participants with an overview of process modeling, analysis, and design. It provides insight into the tools and technologies used to support the BPM discipline including process modeling tools and a BPM platform known as a Business Process Management Suite
(BPMS). Students will learn about the practices and the technologies that are making business process management a much needed approach to solving business problems and improving performance.
