Are Marketers Ready for Google’s Search Algorithm Changes?

Some 78% of digital marketers say they are aware of Google’s imminent search algorithm changes that will add mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal, according to a recent report from gShift.

The report was based on data from a survey conducted between March 25 and April 2 among 293 digital marketers across a variety of industries, including retail, travel, and automotive.

Just over half (52%) of respondents say they think their search rankings and their organic traffic will be affected by Google’s update.

Some 65% of respondents say they are factoring in mobile SEO strategies into their search and content marketing efforts in advance of Google’s changes.

Mobile Friendliness and Traffic

Some 69% of respondents say their website is already mobile-friendly.

Nearly three-quarters (71%) of the digital marketers surveyed say the percentage of their Web traffic coming from mobile devices is 11-50%.
